Superior Livestock Auction hosted their video auction live May 1st from The Superior Livestock Auction Studio in Hudson Oaks, Texas. Cattle producers sold 32,779 head of calves, yearlings and bred stock totaling 258 lots from 20 states for this offering. Strong buyer participation from several bidders throughout the auction resulted in 89 different successful buyers. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through December 2025. Superior Livestock went live with the auction at 8 a.m. CT. The May 1st video auction was broadcast in HD on SLA-TV YouTube, Dish Network Ch. 997 and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction’s Click to Bid website.
Regions 3/4/5/6 Feeder Steers saw aggressive bidding up on steers with more Brahman influence at $7 to $10 higher, while British breeds were also in strong demand at $6 to $12 higher than our last auction. Feeder Heifers were also highly sought after at steady to $8 higher. Regions 1 & 2 were only lightly assessed but on a higher trend. Beef Dairy Crosses were fully steady. Region 5 had a strong offering of Weaned Calves along with Calves on Cows at fully steady to new market highs with deliveries mid-summer to early fall. Regions 3/4/6 were also in strong demand with rain across most of the region pushing prices $10 to $12 higher than our last auction on lighter weights and $5 to $8 higher on heavier weights over 600 lbs. Bred Stock Pairs again saw strong demand at levels steady with our last auction.
